Idle Time

So, work is a little slow right now. With nothing to work on engineers charge their time to overhead. What does one do for 8 hours a day while he is on overhead? So far I have split my time on various activities. Learning verilog, statistical DSP, Macro economics, Java, how to hack the company’s intranet, and caching up on the latest stories on slashdot and digg. A very productive day for myself learning all this cool stuff, but at the end of the day I wish I could contribute to something in the company instead of getting paid to train myself some cool new thing. Oh well I’m going to take the opportunity and run with it.
